 Parboiled rice (also called converted rice) is rice that has been partially boiled in the husk. The three basic steps of parboiling are soaking, steaming and drying.These steps also make rice easier to process by hand, boost its nutritional profile and change its texture. About 50% of the world’s paddy production is parboiled.

Parboiled Glutinous Rice is also known as sticky rice, sweet or waxy rice. Parboiled Glutinous Rice is a kind of rice which grown generally in South East and East Asia, which has cloudy grains, lowest amylose content, and is mostly sticky after this rice cooked. It called glutinous rice due to its sticky or glue form. This variety of rice mostly called sticky rice, it marks Parboiled Glutinous Rice dissimilar from non-glutinous and japonica rice. There are several cultivars of Glutinous Rice.

Parboiled Glutinous Rice is famous from the other ranges of rice by having less amylose, and countless amount of amyl-pectin. Like all diversities of rice, parboiled glutinous rice does not have nutritious gluten and it is safe for gluten free foods.
